Hi all, I've been having a blast and now have 3 level 100 chars. All of my toons so far have had weapon damage and have relied on life steal to stay alive. I now want to make a caster char (aether ray looks cool) but after researching the build I found out life steal does not work (only skills that have a % weapon damage)
Well, I kinda guessed that he knew that already, just asked what stuff he could add to pox / SoC to get some life steal from them. Also mentioned that ghoul/rev should be used only if he plans going melee/have %weapon damage skills
Grim Dawn Life Steal Build
If anything, just change it to % Weapon Damage Converted to Health and it would prevent a LOT of confusion and headaches. They could keep the current terminology for skills with inherent life steal to make that difference clear.
Percent of Attack Damage Converted to Health is a form of life steal available in Grim Dawn. It functions differently depending on whether you find it on equipment or on a skill. When on equipment, life steal applies only to your weapon attacks. If you use a skill with % Weapon Damage, that component of the skill benefit from the life steal. In either case, only the direct damage is considered for life steal. Damage over Time, such as Bleed or Poison, does not trigger it.
Skills and Devotions: Nothing much to say here, Vitality actually has decent support through Devotions which makes up for the somewhat lackluster support from items. We are picking up as much as we can, picking the Dying God Tier 3 Devotion for its awesome skill. The active health cost on it is no issue at all since we have a ton of lifesteal. With the spare points we just get some extra resistances from Solemn Watchtower and pick up +9% HP with the Order crossroads and one point into Lion. If you dont need the Resistances from Solemn Watchtower pick up Hawk with those 3 points for more OA and crit damage.Bindings: Savagery --> Wendigos MarkCurse of Frailty --> Twin FangsDevouring Swarm --> Hungering Void
As you discover new abilities, you will eventually stumble upon skills that deal % Weapon Damage. What this means is that the skill takes the damage and effects you would deal on a regular attack and multiplies it by the displayed %. This includes things such as life steal, bonus magical damage and chance on attack item skills.

Mackin's bleak debut traces six disastrous days in the life of Dr. Richard Gallin, a plastic surgeon living in post-9/11 New York City. Gallin is besieged on all fronts: his practice is hemorrhaging money, his personal life is in shambles, he is the subject of an upcoming exposé for his decision to fire an HIV-positive assistant, and his case of middle-aged ennui is compounded by the death of his son, Bernardo, who worked in one of the twin towers. As Mackin puts the screws to Gallin, things quickly go from bad to worse. Gallin is a grade-A jerk and is so rooted in the past that his present barely exists, and while Mackin has a hard time building sympathy for him, the secondary characters are reliably excellent and provide the book's best moments. By the end, old sorrows will be aired again and combined with fresh disasters as the troupe of damaged New Yorkers stumble toward the tragic conclusion. (Apr.)
When the Pilgrim Fathers reached these shores and talked ofovercoming the Indians, clearing the forest, building cities andmaking a new world, many said it was a dream that never couldbe realized. But it has been realized, and what a magnificentstory the historian has to tell of the trials and achievements ofAmerican heroes in the development of our great country. WhenI study the history of the past it appears to me that Jehovah hasthroughout the ages carried forward His great work ofreformation and civilization by the selection of one great truthat a time, and making it paramount until it found lodgment inthe hearts of men. 2ff7e9595c
